This trip was the first with our camper. Steve & Lorine Woods took their's and we left from church on Easter Sun. April 8th 07. We were going to Hot Springs Ak. to dig in the Strawn-Wagner Crater of Diamonds mine or field As the trip was so long we stopped at America's Best Campground in Memphis TN. for the night. The next morning it was on to Hot Springs. We got to Young's R.V. Resort about lunch time so we ate then toured the city. They have fountains, pools, springs, and spas. We walked down the main street that is simular to Gatlinburg TN. with lost of shops and bath houses. We stopped at the pools and felt the hot water coming right out of the earth. Then we went to Garvan Woodland Gardens. That has lots of beautiful flowers and land scaping. The next morning it was off to the Crater of Diamonds. Hear tell you can just pick them off the ground. Haha. It was a rainy cold day and you had to dig in the field they had plowed so it was also muddy. Needless to say we found no diamonds!!!!. The trip was worth it, just to say we did it. We went back to Hot Springs and rode around site seeing. That night a storm came up and we left the next morning. We followed the storm almost to the Ala. line before we caught it, then it was rain the rest of the way home. We had a good and safe trip.
